Dave Radcliffe

Councillor Dave Radcliffe has thanked everyone who voted for the Liberal Democrats in the Birmingham Selly Oak constituency. Speaking after the declaration of the result, which saw a swing to the Liberal Democrats, Dave Radcliffe said:

"I am grateful to everyone who has supported the Liberal Democrats and our campaign. We will use your support to continue to campaign for fairer taxes, for a fairer voting system and for a fair chance for every child by cutting class sizes and investing more money in schools to help struggling students."

In the local elections, Dave Radcliffe was re-elected to Birmingham City Council in the Selly Oak Ward with an increased majority of 1,394. The full result was:

Dave Radcliffe (Liberal Democrats) - 4,536 votes (42.5%)

Labour - 3,142 votes (29.4%)

Conservatives - 2,214 votes (20.7%)

Green - 453 votes (4.2%)

BNP - 230 votes (2.2%)

Christian Peoples Alliance - 80 votes (0.7%)

Liberal Democrat candidates in the Bournville, Brandwood and Billesley council wards also increased their votes.
