Have YOUR say on the Selly Oak Hospital site5.15.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 31st Aug 2008
Birmingham City Council is consulting on draft Planning Guidance for the Selly Oak Hospital site. Services from Selly Oak Hospital will transfer to the new University Hospital buildings around 2011, after which the site will become available for development. Selly Oak Councillor Dave Radcliffe has welcomed the consultation: "Selly Oak Hospital is a big site and its development could have a big impact on the local community. We should all be able to have our say on the planning policy." "In particular, any development should maintain the character of the area, retaining the mature trees and some of the more historic buildings." Further information can be found at www.birmingham.gov.uk/sellyoakdevelopments and there will also be a number of exhibitions in the local area (details below). The official deadline for comments has been extended until the end of October and the Council will consider all the comments before producing the next stage of the Planning Guidance.
