Lib Dems choose Dave Radcliffe for Birmingham Selly Oak9.43.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Wed 15th Aug 2007
Selly Oak Lib Dems have chosen local councillor Dave Radcliffe as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate. Dave Radcliffe takes over from Dr Richard Brighton who fought at the last General Election. Dave Radcliffe lives locally in Stirchley and works for a Birmingham university. He was elected to Birmingham City Council in June 2004 and is one of the 3 Lib Dem councillors for the Selly Oak Ward. He currently chairs the city's "Cycling Advisory Group" - which provides a link between Councillors, local cycling groups and council officers. Commenting on his selection, Dave Radcliffe said: "I will campaign for quality public services for everyone in Selly Oak, whether they live, work or study here.
