Birmingham Liberal Democrats have launched their manifesto for the local elections on 3 May - "A Better Birmingham: Cleaner Greener and Safer". Details of the local election candidates have also been announced. The Liberal Democrats key pledges to local residents are: 1. Low tax increases - to keep the council tax as low as possible. 2. A Safer Birmingham - continuing to work effectively with the police to beat the criminal.
3. A Greener Birmingham - increasing recycling rates & a commitment to reducing CO2 emissions. 4.To crack down on environmental crime - tougher enforcement action on graffiti, fly tipping & fly posting. 5 . A Cleaner Birmingham - keeping local streets clean & cracking down on people who drop litter. 6. To tackle anti social behaviour - working with the police to beat anti social behaviour. 7. Local services - Local decisions - aiming to take more decisions locally involving the community in the process.
